Jodie I already shared one of my smiles with a neighbor who has cancer of the throat. He has had major surgery to his mouth and chin and he is undergoing a new surgery next week with three surgeries involved where they are lifting his face from the neck up to his nose and doing major grafts and reconstruction. He will not make eye contact with you when he talks to you because of his appearance.
I talked to him at length and told him he just needs to get this surgery behind him and he will have his smile back soon.
Then it dawned on me that I have the smile seeds at home!
I went and got one for him and wrote him a note that one day soon he will be cancer free and he will be smiling again from ear to ear and I can’t wait to have his smiling face looking back at me.
He was crying and gave me a hug and we stood there hugging and crying together.
