May 5-9, 2014 is Teacher Appreciation Week.
The first full week in May honors those hard working, patient and understanding people whom we entrust our children to. Teachers mold our kids in a positive direction; from Kindergarten through college, they are an important part of our children’s lives.
So let’s give ’em their due. If you happen to be a teacher reading this, we personally offer our thanks! And, to show our gratitude, an apple for the teacher is always appreciated. Check out our Seeds of Happiness Apples, we have two sizes for your favorite teachers!

March 25 is INTERNATIONAL WAFFLE DAY. Waffle Day began in Sweden as Våffeldagen; this day historically marks the beginning of spring and is celebrated by the eating of many waffles.
This remarkable dough-based gridded cake can be eaten for breakfast, lunch or dinner, snack or dessert.
Take this day to explore the variety that the world of the waffle has to offer you: topped with fried chicken or stacked and drenched in sugary maple syrup, dusted with confectioner’s sugar or coated in chocolate or cream…yum!
A Few Waffle Fun Facts:
* The word “waffle” is from the Dutch, meaning “wafer.”
* In the late 1800’s, Thomas Jefferson returned from France with a waffle iron.
* Eggo Waffles were introduced in supermarket freezer sections in 1953.
* Since its founding in 1955, the Waffle House chain has sold more than 500 million waffles.
