Stacey lost her mom to breast cancer July 1st after being home for four days out of the hospital. Her mom was her world, her rock and she is having a very hard time with the loss. We have been by her side throughout the entire ordeal of cancer from last December. She only has a part time job and close to being evicted from her apartment she shares with two rottweilers; her mom was the other source of income to keep them there. She recently was going to spend Thanksgiving alone; instead, we invited her to our family Thanksgiving, but she originally declined due to no gas money so I personally sent her a $20 gas card to come, where she enjoyed being around other people, talking, laughing, eating and crying, but about the good memories of her mom. She was shown compassion by everyone there. I gave (will be giving) her “Seed of Happiness” in two weeks because we invited her to our “Cookie Baking Day”, something her mom loved to do and we also invited her to the family Christmas Eve as well. I am sure she will cry when she receives this “gift of happiness and encouragement”, but I feel good about giving it to her because of all she has endured these past 11 months.

In 2006 Seeds of Happiness started out as leftover lumps of clay that Mark Borella made into little smiles to give to friends who were going through hard times and needed a little smile.
